Does art drive color or vice versa? Whatever medium I am working in color seems to be the driving force despite what my "planning the piece" thoughts are. I adore fine beadwork. My only models were the Plains Indian native traditions in books and museums. As a self-taught artist this amazing body of historical work influenced me as I embraced the medium. I felt I had come home after finishing the first piece. It inspired me to create my own ideas in the "Old Style Way," part of me always wondering how my own style would express itself using these same tools and medium. Well, the beaded spheres, geometrics and sculpture are my pathway.
Painting in the Round, the spheres and the flat round canvases are fairly recent and the results please me immensely. Temari is the newest direction in my work. I hope you enjoy your tour through all the various objects presented. Thank you for joining me here. Judy Tepley Contact Me [email protected]
