Tipi Back Rest, used by most Plains Indian Tribes. Style, shape and decoration change accordingly. This pair are my own and reflect my love of floral beading design. The poles that support the body are painted. The head piece of each is hand beaded on navy trade wool and detailed out with fringe and antique sequins. The main body of each is made from selected, peeled, drilled and hand laced willow. The edges bound in trade wool. When your done sitting, you simply roll it up and go on your way. Outside or in the lodge they make sitting on the ground a pleasure.
